Started in June 1984, Dr. T. K. Tope Arts & Commerce Night College is permanently affiliated to University of Mumbai. It was named after Dr. T. K. Tope, then Vice Chancellor of Mumbai University. The need for instituting a Night College in Parel, then dominant locality of Mill workers, was felt by the Gokhale Education Society to educate the children of working class. College offers undergraduate programmes in Arts & Commerce and postgraduate program in commerce. The concentration of the college is to enroll students who are unable to complete their study due to their working conditions. The college is well-known among the learners who identify it for quality teaching, good infrastructure, learning spirit and cordial teaching and non-teaching staff. College has maintained its reputation with its focus on the current need of students, their all-round development, their enhancement of skill for employability and social participation.
The college has a strength of 1100 students and is implementing innovative techniques in teaching and learning. The college strives to cater the demanding needs of the students for their academic excellence.
