Dr. T. K. Tope Arts & Commerce Night College, established in June 1984 and permanently affiliated to the University of Mumbai, was named after Dr. T. K. Tope, the former Vice Chancellor of Mumbai University, with the aim of providing education to the children of the working class in the prominent mill workers’ locality of Parel.
About GES
Establishment of Gokhale Education Society was the brainchild of late Prin. Trimbak Appa Kulkarni, who was an ardent disciple of Namdar Gopal Krishna Gokhale. The society was founded on 19th February 1918 marking the third death anniversary of Gopal Krishna Gokhale. The society started D.G.T. High school at Girgaon in 1918, R.M. Bhatt High School at Parel in 1919 and S.P.H. High School at Bordi in 1920 in its initial adventure. The society has expanded in to the districts of Mumbai, Nasik, Thane, Palghar, Ahmednagar and Navi Mumbai comprising high schools, Jr. Colleges, Sr. Colleges, Engineering, Agriculture, Education, Law, Management and Technology colleges.
